Avon “Magic Bus” Tour

Beauty products giant Avon was seeking a way to increase their salesforce. They decided to initiate an experiential marketing program, canvasing the country in an effort to increase their sales force through “grassroots” style recruiting methods. In 2013, Avon began to cover the U.S. with a fleet of (20) vibrant Avon Red Mercedes Sprinter vans, or “Magic Buses.” The Magic Buses are beautifully branded with the Avon logo and promotional graphics. In 2013, Avon concentrated its resources on what they deemed to be high priority markets and activities utilizing the “Magic Bus Tour”.

Avon partnered exclusively with Columbus’ Associated Graphics, Inc. (AGI) for the Magic Bus Tour project. AGI is a national leader in vehicle and retail graphics, capable of design, production and installation of graphics anywhere in the U.S. and Canada. Each Sprinter adorned an eye-catching full wrap that inevitably created a stir and generated a great amount of attention at each event across the country. AGI’s award-winning design team worked closely with the Avon marketing department to ensure that all of the graphics would output at optimum quality. Initially, three crews of AGI’s 3M Certified Installers completed the installations before the program launched.

Roughly six months into the program, Avon began to introduce new products to display on their buses. AGI performed their “magic” mid-way through the tour as they quickly implemented a “switch-out” program, which consisted of re-wrapping the graphics on all (20) Sprinters at multiple locations across the country to promote Avon’s new product lines.

Avon is the world’s largest direct seller; its product line includes beauty products as well as home and fashion products. Avon markets to women in more than 100 countries through more than six million independent sales representatives.
